Wedding Photographers & Filmmakers in Marbella

Marbella does glamour better than anywhere on the Costa del Sol: yachts in Puerto Banús, white hotels along the Golden Mile, beach clubs that turn gold at sunset. The weddings we remember here are the ones that also felt real. We’re Diego and Tamara, a husband-and-wife team of photographers and filmmakers based half an hour away in Estepona. We tell your Marbella wedding in photos and film, without staging it.

Marbella has two faces, and the best wedding days use both. One is the coast: 28 km of beaches with Sierra Blanca rising behind them, beach clubs and hotel gardens that run down to the sand.

The other is the Old Town. Whitewashed lanes, blue flowerpots and orange trees around the Plaza de los Naranjos, laid out in the 16th century.

We like moving between the two: cava by the pool, then ten quiet minutes on the beach. The glamour is the setting; what we photograph is the people in it.

We also photographed Patricia & Arndt at Casa de la Era, in Marbella.

In June 2026, Ana & Borja married at the Iglesia de la Encarnación, in front of a green and gold altarpiece, and drove on in a dark green Jaguar to Finca Villa Palma, with palms, lawns and the hills behind.

Venues we know

  • Barbillón

A wedding venue right by the sea in Marbella, where Ana & Sam got married.

  • Finca Villa Palma

A garden estate in the hills between Marbella and Ojén, with palms, hedged paths and a lawn facing the mountains. Ana & Borja held their reception here.

  • Marbella Club Hotel, Golden Mile

The five-star hotel where Marbella’s jet-set story began, with gardens down to the beach. Days here run to a tight schedule, so we plan the portraits around it.

  • Still choosing?

Other Marbella venues worth a look include Puente Romano and Los Monteros on the coast, and Finca La Concepción and Casa de la Era inland. Send us your shortlist and we’ll tell you how the light falls at each one.

Churches where we have shot weddings

  • Iglesia de la Encarnación

Marbella’s main church, in the heart of the old town, with a green and gold altarpiece and a shower of petals at the door.

When to get married in Marbella

May, June, September and October are the sweet spot: warm days, cooler evenings and a long golden hour. In July and August the coast averages 30–31 °C, and the terral, a hot wind from inland, can push it towards 40 °C. For a summer wedding, plan the ceremony for 18:00 or later.

Sunset shifts a lot over the season: around 21:40 in late June, 20:30 in mid-September and 19:45 by mid-October. We build your timeline backwards from it.

Check the calendar before you book. Easter week (21–28 March 2027) fills the Old Town with processions. The Feria de San Bernabé takes over the town in mid-June, around the 11th. From mid-June to late August, Starlite concert nights at the Nagüeles quarry can mean heavier traffic and higher hotel prices.

Getting to Marbella, and where your guests can stay

Málaga Airport is 35–55 minutes away, with direct flights from more than 20 UK airports, Belfast included, and from Dublin, Cork and Knock. Gibraltar is about an hour away and handy for flights from London, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham.

There’s no train to Marbella, so book transfers, and in July and August allow extra time around San Pedro and Puerto Banús, where evening traffic crawls. The AP-7 toll road is quicker.

For guests: five-star hotels on the Golden Mile, nightlife in Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucía, boutique hotels in the Old Town, quieter beach resorts in Elviria and Cabopino. Marrying at Barbillón? Stay in San Pedro or Guadalmina.

Marbella Town Hall even has its own wedding department, Marbella de Boda. Most UK and Irish couples, though, sign at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here. For an English-speaking church, there’s an Anglican church in San Pedro de Alcántara. More in our FAQ.

Questions couples ask

Can we get married at Marbella Town Hall?

Only if one of you is registered as living in Spain (empadronado), since the file has to be opened at the civil registry or a notary there. Ceremonies are on Fridays, in municipal rooms such as Cortijo Miraflores. The town hall doesn’t publish a fee, so ask its protocol office.

When is the best time for photos in the Old Town?

Early morning or the golden hour. The Plaza de los Naranjos is busy from mid-morning, so we also use the quieter lanes behind it, like Calle Chinchilla with its blue flowerpots.

Can you fly a drone at our Marbella wedding?

Sometimes. Marbella has a heliport, and the council fined drone operators between €1,000 and €225,000 in 2025. We check the ENAIRE map for your venue weeks ahead and apply for permission. If it isn’t legal, we don’t fly.

Can we get married on the beach in Marbella?

Not as a private event on the public sand: Spanish beaches are public land. Choose a beach club or seafront hotel: ceremony on its terrace, then a walk down to the sand for portraits. Ask the venue about its music cut-off, usually around midnight on the coast.

Do you photograph and film on the same day?

Yes, that’s what we do. Diego leads the photography and Tamara, who trained as a film director, shoots the film: one team, one style. Photography starts at €1,580 and film at €1,880; see pricing.
