The venue

Barbillón is a beach club and restaurant on the seafront at Guadalmina Baja, in Marbella. Tables sit on a terrace with sea views and around the main pool, a few steps from the water.

For weddings it has more than 4,000 m², with an upper terrace and the pool area. It is a beach club, not a hotel, so guests stay elsewhere on the coast.

The club closes in winter.

Our favourite spots and the best light

Ana and Sam’s ceremony was on the terrace, facing the sea, with two wicker peacock chairs at the front and an aisle of rugs and flowers between the guests.

For portraits we went down to the beach, with the straw parasols, the plants on the dunes and an old watchtower further along the shore. We finished in the warm evening light by the shore.

Drinks were under scalloped parasols. At night the party moved inside, to the restaurant, and the dancing was by the bar.
