Finca Espanta Rodrigo – Cortijo de Terry · Jerez de la Frontera
We photographed Raquel and Manu's wedding at Finca Espanta Rodrigo, in Jerez de la Frontera.
Raquel and Manu married on a bright November day at Finca Espanta Rodrigo – Cortijo de Terry, an old cortijo in Jerez de la Frontera, with a coat of arms over a green door and a courtyard set with wooden chairs, pampas grass and dried flowers. A page boy came in first with a sign announcing the groom.
Manu walked in on his mother’s arm. Raquel arrived by car with her father, in a high-neck dress with a cape and a bouquet of deep red roses.
The ceremony was in the courtyard itself, led by their friends at a microphone. There were readings, a few tears and plenty of laughter, and the first kiss came under white drapes and lanterns. They left through the arch in a cloud of paper petals and went straight into a dance with their friends under the palm trees.
At sunset we took them out to the fields around the cortijo, to a wooden fence and a country lane, while the light turned gold. Before the wedding we had already photographed them among the white streets of Vejer de la Frontera, in their pre-wedding session.
The party had a live band, a “Better Together” neon sign and a packed dance floor. Later Raquel put on sunglasses and opened a pair of LED wings.
A whitewashed courtyard, red roses and a shower of paper petals.
A wooden fence, a country lane and the last of the light.
